This etching by
Jacques Camus is an illustration from the book The Girl With the Golden Eyes, a tale by Honore de Balzac, and
published in a new deluxe edition in 1944. The image shows Henri being escorted
to meet Paquita.
This etching is
a strong impression in black ink with clearly visible plate marks. The image is one of the full-page impressions on fine
watermarked Johannot wove paper with no text. This etching came from book number 65 from a total edition of 90 in this
paper. (Numbers 1 through 10 were printed on a different variation of Johannot paper; numbers 11 through 100 were printed
on this paper; numbers 101 through 300 were printed on Marias paper. Total edition size in all papers is 300.)
