In 1947, French artist Jacques Camus produced a series of etchings
for a deluxe edition of Balzac's tale "The Girl With the Golden Eyes". These etchings help tell this grand tale, using images
of a Paris from an era gone by.
Etching #1 by Jacques Camus
Listed below are full-page etchings without
text from the book La Fille Aux Yeux D'or (The Girl With the Golden Eyes). These are strong impressions in black
ink on fine quality watermarked Johannot wove paper. These etchings have been kept in the book with the orginal tissue
paper separators still in place in the unbound pages. It is unlikely the etchings have seen daylight.
