Hommage to Garnier - Color Lithograph After Marc Chagall
This original lithograph on paper after Marc Chagall shows
the Paris Opera House designed by Garnier. It was published in the 1965 book, Le Plafond de l'Opera de Paris
(The Ceiling of the Paris Opera House) by Jacques Lassaigne. The colorful image extends to the edges of the paper. This
version is not numbered and not signed. The customary crease from the original book placement is visible down the center of
the piece. An inscription and signature were made on the original plate and are therefore printed on each lithograph.
The lithograph was executed by Charles Sorlier, the artisan who worked with Chagall for several decades and helped
produce the majority of Chagall's lithographs.
