Recuerdos Antiquos
This is an original work of art, executed in Prismacolor and pencil, by Mestizo artist
Amado Pena. Titled Recuerdos Antiquos (Antique Memories), this work shows the rich colors often seen in Southwestern Native
American weavings and pottery. The work is signed by the artist under the left figure in the image. (Prismacolor
is a bright color palette medium similar to oil pastel.) From a series called "The Mestizo Series".
The work is matted and mounted in a raised manner, giving it the effect of floating
in the frame. The bright red and blue form a brilliant contrast with the black used throughout the image.
