Scala Chansons Programme Color Lithograph

Original 1897 lithograph printed in colors on wove paper. Not signed. Transcribed from a program for music and song performances at Scala, a popular Parisian music hall.

The image was published in the monthly series Les Programmes Illustrees des Theatres et des Cafe-Concerts, a collection of artwork original executed for theater programs and cafe concerts. The series was published in 1987 by Ernest Maindron; this plate was printed by Imprimerie F. Appel in Paris. Scala was a popular music hall in Paris and offered popular singers performing for the Parisian audience.
