Original Oil on Canvas by 20th Century Impressionist Max Agostini (French, 1914-1997). Titled Flowers in a Pitcher. This work shows Agostini’s reknown use of colors to express the simple beauty of flowers in a jug on the table. Signed by the artist in red lower right. Numbered B360 on the back of the canvas, indicated it was done in the 1974-75 time period (consistent with dated Agostini paintings in the same number range). Back of canvas also includes a stamp from the Galerie Martin-Caille Matignon, a Parisian art gallery (75 Rue du Fauborg Saint-Honore) that exclusively handles Agostini’s works.
