Jules Cheret

Jules Cheret (French, 1836-1932) is celebrated as the “Father of the Modern Poster”.  He developed a distinctive style, showing women as free spirits and individuals. His over 1,000 posters, done in bright primary colors, will forever identify him as a master of the lithograph poster.
